The Role: EHS & Risk Strategist (Part-Time)
As a EHS & Risk Strategist at YellowBird, you’ll play a crucial role in the sales process—bringing expertise, credibility, clarity, and confidence to prospective customers. You’ll partner with Account Executives (AEs) on sales and business development calls to provide subject matter expertise, share relevant case studies, and help translate client challenges into platform-powered solutions.
You won't be selling—you'll be enabling customer acquisition by speaking the right risk/safety vernacular, empathizing with the client’s reality, and reinforcing how YellowBird can deliver immediate and long-term value.
You’ll also be collaborating with our Product, Marketing, and Customer Success Teams as an internal consultant. This will include strategies, tools and processes, service packaging, and product feedback.
What You'll Do
- Join Sales Calls with YellowBird AEs to provide technical context, validate client needs, and build trust with safety and risk leaders.
- Speak the Language of safety, compliance, and risk to ensure prospects feel understood and supported.
- Share Stories that Stick: Offer real-world examples and case studies to illustrate how YellowBird’s professionals have delivered value in similar situations.
- Guide Scope & Fit: Help define project needs, clarify deliverables, and align the right professional profile to the customer’s unique environment.
- Act as a Bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring sales conversations reflect both platform capability and risk/reality alignment.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Operations to continuously improve our message, positioning, and client outcomes.
Who You Are
- Experienced Risk/EHS Professional: 7+ years in safety, compliance, insurance loss control, industrial hygiene, or risk management consulting.
- Industry Fluent: You’ve worked in or supported industries like construction, manufacturing, logistics, energy, or insurance.
- A Trusted Advisor: You enjoy helping others solve complex challenges and are confident speaking with EHS Directors, Risk Managers, and executives.
- A Natural Storyteller: You can recall and articulate impactful examples from your career that relate to our client use cases.
- Proponent of Technology: You believe in our mission, the modernization of processes, and can explain how a tech-enabled service model benefits businesses.
- Collaborative and Flexible: You like working as part of a team, are responsive to scheduling needs, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Bonus If You Have
- Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHST, CRIS,, RIMS-CRMP or ARM
- Experience in third-party safety consulting or contractor vetting
- Familiarity with platforms like YellowBird or similar risk/safety marketplaces
- Previous experience with CRM systems

- Hourly, monthly retainer, or per-call/project rate depending on experience
