The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a critical role in our business development efforts. This individual will focus on prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting discovery calls to drive opportunities into the sales pipeline. The SDR will be the first point of contact for potential clients, creating a solid foundation for successful client relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prospecting: Research and identify potential clients through various channels (e.g., LinkedIn, industry lists, company, and industry databases). Work with Marketing and Department Heads to deliver outbound campaign touches.
- Lead Qualification: Rapidly respond to inbound leads and qualify them to ensure they meet predefined criteria for target customers.
- Discovery Call Setting: Schedule discovery calls between qualified leads and senior sales or advisory team members.
- HubSpot CRM Management: Accurately document all interactions, activities, and progress in our internal system to ensure seamless team collaboration and visibility.
- Follow-Up and Communication: Execute timely and personalized follow-ups via email, phone, or other tools. Proactive and reactive response to ensure efficient communication.
- Market: Stay informed about emerging industry trends, our ideal clients, client pain points, and strategies to increase touches and credibility.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proficiency in sales tools and software (CRM systems, sales analytics, presentation software)
- Basic understanding of digital marketing and e-commerce platforms
- Knowledge of the Sales Process and Forecasting Methodology
- Metrics-driven vocabulary for updates
- High level of personal motivation
- Familiarity with AICPA professional standards
- Ability to win and close business.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Resilience in handling objections and setbacks with a solutions-oriented attitude
- Comprehensive knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape
- In-depth understanding of the company's products or services and their benefits
- Basic understanding of financial principles (profit and loss statements, budgeting, revenue forecasting)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting ideas, negotiating deals, and interacting with clients and team members.
- Active listening skills to understand client needs and team concerns
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and find effective solutions
- Expertise in negotiating contracts and closing deals
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school degree; or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in a professional service or B2B environment
