The Technical Writer is a critical part of our Technical Operations team and is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing RevolutionParts’ technical documentation resources, including customer-facing documentation and internal product guides. This role ensures all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of product changes. The technical writer will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to document new releases and updates, focusing on clarity and usability for various stakeholders.
Responsbilities:
- Develop, manage, and update platform documentation to ensure that both internal teams and external customers have clear, accurate information on product functionality and features.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to document new product features, historical changes, and future updates.
- Oversee the maintenance and organization of the knowledge base, ensuring information is accessible and current.
- Create training materials and customer-facing documents to support product adoption and use.
- Conduct regular reviews of documentation to identify gaps, update content, and optimize accessibility for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Act as a point of contact for documentation inquiries from other departments and lead the response process for content requests.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field (Computer Science or Engineering background is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a SaaS or eCommerce environment.
- Proven ability to write and organize content in a clear, concise manner tailored to multiple audiences.
- Familiarity with technical documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Zendesk) and best practices for knowledge management.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Support.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of SaaS and eCommerce industries is a strong advantage.
