TL;DR
Trainual is looking to bring on a Social Media Sales Intern! This person will engage with all of the people who like, comment on, or share our company’s social media advertising - aiming to turn those on-platform engagements into off-platform sales opportunities (and obviously, customers!)
You’ll be paid on a performance basis similar to affiliate marketing, but instead of needing to rely on your own network, you get to go after the layups generated by our social media engagement. (Specifically Facebook and Instagram) Reaching millions of people per month? We got that part! We need you to continue the conversation from the initial impression and drive behavior toward them booking demos or signing up for a free trial. Your financial upside is in your own hands.
So, who are you? You’re social-savvy and obsessed with striking up conversations. You match our brand with creativity, quirkiness, and SMB knowledge. You don’t shy away from questions or natural dialogue and know how to use written words to create action.

What you will own & improve: Generating new sales from opportunities on social media!

  • When someone shares a Trainual ad, you reach out to start a conversation.
  • When someone reacts with a like, love or laugh, you click through and try to get them talking and taking the next step.
  • If someone tags a friend in the comments on an ad, you hit them both up to try and bring them into our world.
  • You see all of those above scenarios as opportunities to be helpful and drive those folks to sales-related activities in our pipeline, like booking a demo or starting a free trial.
  • Invite everyone who likes, loves, or laughs at an ad to like the Trainual page.

What you already know:

  • Social media (duh)! As implied by the role title and literally every word thus far, you know social platforms and how to create short + effective dialogue with potential prospects.

How success is measured:

  • You’ll be in charge of tracking the people you engage with on our social ads.
  • You will have specific links to share for driving sales demos that attribute their booking source to your efforts alongside our ads.
  • You will have a specific link to share for people who would prefer to start a free trial and that will also track their trial and conversion behavior with attribution to your efforts
About the Team:
No shame in saying this is an opportunity to work with a best-in-class marketing team. You’ll be reporting to our incredible VP of Marketing, Jami Hartmann, and collaborating closely with Jonathan Ronzio (CMO) and Mimmie Helgesson (Paid Media Lead). (What a dream team!)
Compensation:
This role does not have a base salary. It is an internship paid on a performance basis for the qualified leads you get into a sales demo or trial, and ultimately the volume of new customers closed.
Expectations:
This internship will be open through the end of the calendar year, 2023, with a re-evaluation period at that point to extend or even potentially hire in a more formal capacity, depending on revenue driven. Because this position pays based on performance, ultimately your working hours are at your discretion and it’s up to you to determine how much effort you put in for the uncapped compensation upside. It is expected that you are available for weekly meetings with our marketing team, specifically your manager and any direct collaborators. It is also expected that you will be checking in on the new engagement/sales opportunities on our social media ads on at least a weekly basis (daily being ideal).

Short-term Disability Insurance & Life Insurance: We cover 100% of the premiums for Short Term Disability Insurance and 1x salary Life Insurance. You also have the option to purchase supplementary disability and life insurance through our provider.
Paid time off: 4 weeks of paid vacation. 5 days of paid sick time. 12 paid holidays.
Paid parental leave, including adoption: 8 weeks of fully paid time off.
401k with a 3% matching through Guideline 401(k).
Experience stipend: Up to $500 per year to experience something new - whether that’s a new ice cream flavor or a new country.
Great tools: Each employee receives a Mac laptop and a 27'' display (or equivalent). We’ll also purchase any of the software or hardware you need.
Complete transparency: Everyone has full access to business metrics and financial information about the company.

No Red Tape: Work hard to make every process easy. There is nothing more frustrating than a bureaucratic process, and you won’t find one here. Never make customers or coworkers jump through hoops. Don’t let policy supersede logic. You’ll never go wrong making things easier on others, so challenge every system that could have fewer steps, more automation, and less complexity.

- Anyone can work from the office at any time. We often have remote folks in town working from our PHX office!
- If you live in Phoenix, there is not a requirement of days worked in the office.

We want everyone to have a community, trusted relationships, easy collaboration, and a clear path for growth while maintaining the autonomy, ownership, and flexibility we've enjoyed with the transition to fully remote during the pandemic. As we transition to our hybrid work model, we want each team member to own their experience to ensure they are happy and fulfilled.
Location: 70% of our team is based out of Phoenix, AZ and our preference for new team members is local due to the ease of ad hoc collaboration and community building. However, we know great talent lives all over! If you don't live in Arizona and are interested in working at Trainual, we will consider each state on a case-by-case basis due to the implications of doing business in each state.
