Our end users are typically members of under-resourced communities. We must create a design process that centers their voices while celebrating the creativity and knowledge present in the community.
While all our positions are remote-first, candidates who reside in the Greater Phoenix Arizona region would be preferred for this role.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with Indigenous expertise to join our team and support our Native American platform project & solutions. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating the project, acting as a liaison with the tribal community and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between the project team and the regional stakeholders, ensuring that the project respects tribal sovereignty and meets the needs of the community.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to design, develop and implement project plans and deliverables.
- Conduct regular progress meetings with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and to communicate project progress and status.
- Ensure that the project adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure that the project is well-documented and that all documentation is easily accessible and up-to-date.
- Manage project risks, identifying and mitigating potential issues before they become critical.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Provide regular project status updates to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience working with Native American communities.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of software development and deployment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical team members, tribal community members, and external partners.
- Familiarity with project management software, such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
- Ability to travel to remote locations as needed.
